Former Oswayo Valley Library Director
Allegedly Stole Thousands of Dollars

The former director of the Oswayo Valley Memorial Library in Shinglehouse is accused of buying thousands of dollars with of items with library money for her own use and not reimbursing the library.

38-year-old Tammy Ann Ray of Liverpool, New York is charged with two felony counts of theft, along with receiving stolen property and related offenses. Former library board member, 36-year-old Rebeccah Lynn Dickerson of Shinglehouse, is charged with misdemeanor counts of theft and receiving stolen property.

Police say between November of 2007 and August of last year Ray bought more $8,000 worth of merchandise, including electronics, sports memorabilia and clothes.

Police started their investigation after the library’s board of directors and current staff conducted an internal audit that revealed discrepancies in the library’s purchases and its inventory.

Charges against both women have been filed with district judge Kari Stubbs. Dickerson’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday. A date for Ray’s hearing has not been set yet.

Innocent until proven guilty!! Where is the treasurer? The librarian does not pay the bills!!! She was good and lots of programs!! She always had tons of prizes! I think the board is accusing before they see the whole story! She did a lot for the community and the library!!

Woman Charged with Posting
Nude Picture on Facebook

A Falconer, New York, woman is facing charges after allegedly posting a naked photo of a Warren woman on Facebook. Police say 22-year-old Lindsay Head posted the picture without the consent of the 21-year-old victim, who is dating Head's ex-boyfriend. Head is charged with dispersing obscene and sexual materials. The picture has been removed from Facebook.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police also learned there was an active warrant against him from City of Jamestown Court. He was sent to Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 bail. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947
