Elk County Bridge to Open Monday

Ridgway – Work to repair and resurface the deck on the Belltown Bridge in Elk County will be complete on Monday, July 23 and the bridge will again carry two-way traffic. The repairs will prolong the serviceable life of the bridge for years.

The bridge spans the Clarion River on Route 3001 (Belltown Road) in Millstone Township. Crews have been working to repair the bridge since late March. With those repairs complete, PennDOT will remove the temporary traffic signal that had controlled an alternating traffic pattern.

The work was part of a $1.7 million contract to repair and preserve three bridges in Elk County and two in Cameron County. L.C. Whitford Company, Inc., of Wellsville, New York was the contractor for the overall project.
