Flags Stolen from VanGiesen Memorial
Someone stole flags and flagpoles from the memorial for a soldier from Kane who died while serving in Afghanistan.
Police say sometime between August 1 and Monday someone went to the VanGiesen Memorial in Gibbs Hill Cemetery, broke 2 20-foot flagpoles off at their bases and stole them, along with a POW flag, a Pennsylvania state flag and an American flag.
