Kane Evacuation Order Lifted
5 PM UPDATE: Route 6 has re-opened
The evacuation order in Kane has been lift and residents are allowed to return to their homes.
About 1,000 people had to be evacuated from a half-mile radius around Greeves and Fraley streets after a tanker truck carrying 8,000 gallons of butane turned over at around 4:30 this morning.
Utilities had to be turned off while butane was being transferred to another tanker. The McKean County Emergency Management Agency says the utilties should be restored soon.
Roads will be closed until the scene is cleared, which is expected shortly, according to the EMA.
