Tougher Laws for NY Sex Offenders
New York will be getting tougher on registered sex offenders.
Governor Andrew Cuomo today signed into law a bill that authorizes law enforcement officials to update the photographs of high-risk sexual offenders every 90 days or if the person’s appearance changes. The pictures will be sent to the sex offender registry for use by the public and law enforcement.
Currently the offenders are required to submit a photo once a year. This bill will take effect in 30 days.
