Live Streaming from the Statue of Liberty

After being closed for a year of renovations, the Statue of Liberty will reopen to the public and will become wheelchair accessible for the first time.

On Sunday, October 28 – her 126th birthday – the public will have access to the crown once again. EarthCam is marking this special event with the release of a new 90-second time-lapse movie, detailing the year long efforts required and necessary staging for the pedestal renovation.

EarthCam, in partnership with the National Park Service, documented the Statue of Liberty renovation project. A 16 megapixel construction camera, custom designed to be mounted in the torch, provides dramatic imagery of the work below from high above the Statue of Liberty's crown. EarthCam is sharing these unique images with the world to enjoy.
