Preparing for Frankenstorm,
Corbett, Cuomo Declare Emergencies
UPDATE: Sandy has been upgraded back to a hurricane
Although Sandy has been downgraded from a hurricane to a tropical storm, it and two other systems could wreak havoc in the area, and both governors Tom Corbett and Andrew Cuomo have declared states of emergency, which authorizes state agencies to use all available resources and personnel, as necessary, to cope with the magnitude and severity of emergency situations.
Flooding and power outages are also anticipated, and could last for several days. Sustained high winds will likely contribute to damage across both states as well.
