Hunter Dies in Chautauqua County

A hunter from Butler, PA, was found dead in the woods of Chautauqua County Tuesday evening.

Sheriff’s deputies got a call at about 3:10 p.m. from a concerned friend of 68-year-old Allen “Randy” Smith, who had gone hunting.

Deputies and their K9 unit found Smith in a wooded area in Ashville at around 6:15. They say it appears something broke on his tree stand and he fell about 20 feet.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cops: Man Had Sex with 13-Year-Old

A Derrick City man is accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl. 19-year-old Richie Cromley is charged with statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and criminal solicitation on a computer of a sex act with a child. Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
