Man Accused of Assaulting 9-Year-Old Girl

A 57-year-old Chautauqua County man is accused of sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl.

Sheriff's deputies say Ismael Ortiz of Brocton abused the girl between October 31 and November 20 in a house in the Town of Portland.

Ortiz is charged with first-degree sexual assault and is jailed on $30,000 bail.

The investigation started with Child Protective Services. The DA's office and the county child advocacy program were also involved in the investigation.

A Derrick City man is accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl. 19-year-old Richie Cromley is charged with statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and criminal solicitation on a computer of a sex act with a child. Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
