Zewe is Chief Nursing Officer at
Bradford Regional Medical Center
After a national search and assessing many external candidates for the CNO position at BRMC, it became clear that Jeff Zewe’s nursing experience and background were superior to that of any other candidates considered for this position,” said Timothy J. Finan, president and CEO of Upper Allegheny Health System, Bradford Regional Medical Center and Olean General Hospital. “By virtue of his work within the Upper Allegheny Health System, Jeff already has an understanding of BRMC and has existing professional relationships with many of the hospital’s nursing managers.”
“Jeff Zewe’s depth of knowledge of clinical nursing, nursing education and training and excellent organizational skills will help to advance nursing and patient care at BRMC,” he said.
Finan explained that during Zewe’s time at Olean General Hospital, and prior, he distinguished himself as a strong nursing leader who relates exceptionally well to staff nurses, nurse managers and physicians. “He has a keen understanding of nursing care delivery and process improvement and is a strong advocate of implementing evidence-based care which improves safety, quality and the patient experience,” Finan said.
Prior to coming to Olean General Hospital in January 2011, Zewe was Vice President of Patient Care Services for Excela Health, a multi-hospital system located outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Prior to Excela Health, he was a Nursing Director at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh where he was responsible for multiple cardiac nursing units. Zewe received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Duquesne University and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Point Park University.
Paula Platko, RN, who has served in an interim role as Director of Nursing, will remain in her current position and assist Zewe with his BRMC responsibilities.
