Sandusky Appeals to Superior Court
Jerry Sandusky is appealing Judge John Cleland’s decision denying him a new trial.
Last month, Cleland rejected arguments that defense attorneys didn't have enough time to prepare for the trial that ended in the former Penn State assistant football coach’s conviction on 45 charges of child sex abuse.
Cleland also rejected post-sentencing motions regarding jury instructions and hearsay testimony. In documents filed Wednesday in Centre County Court, and released to the media today, Sandusky lawyer Joe Amendola did not say what issues he plans to argue in his appeal to the Superior Court.
Sandusky is serving a 30- to 60-year state prison sentence.
