Bus Driver Charged with Sexual Abuse

A bus driver for the Randolph Central School District is accused of sexually abusing a boy.

66-year-old John Hitchcock allegedly had sexual conduct with the child, who is younger than 13, on multiple occasions. He is charged with seven counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

The alleged incidents happened in September and October of last year between Randolph and Ashville.

Hitchcock is in the Chautauqua County Jail and has been placed on administrative leave by the school district.

The Chautauqua and Cattaraugus county sheriff’s offices and DA’s office, as well as child advocacy centers, worked on the investigation together.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. A Derrick City man is accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl. 19-year-old Richie Cromley is charged with statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and criminal solicitation on a computer of a sex act with a child.
