Players Firebomber Sentenced
The man who firebombed Players Downtown in Bradford has been sentenced to more than 10 years in prison for violating federal arson laws.
43-year-old Damon Kayes threw a Molotov cocktail at the front door of the bar at around 11:30 p.m. on September 9, 2011, when about 30 people were inside. No one was hurt.
US District Judge Sean McLaughlin said Kayes has a serious criminal history involving multiple violent offenses, and that he totally disregarded the serious risk of harm to the bar’s patrons.
Besides the 150 months in prison, Kayes has also been ordered to pay nearly $2,900 in restitution.
