Police Standoff Ends Peacefully
A police standoff in Olean ended peacefully Thursday afternoon, although one shot was fired and police snipers had been set up in the neighborhood.
Police went to North Fourth Street for a report of a suicidal man who said if police went to his apartment he would shoot them.
They say 49-year-old Frank DiLorenzo fired a shot from a rifle out the back door of his apartment. No one was hurt, and he later surrendered without further incident. The standoff lasted about an hour and a half.
DiLorenzo is charged with a felony count of reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.
