Charges Related to Fire Bound to Court
Charges against the South Center Street woman accused of leaving her four-year-old daughter alone in her apartment, which later caught on fire, have been bound to court.
32-year-old Susan Hassek allegedly told the fire department all of her children were out of the home with her when the fire started. But a neighbor who saw the fire went inside to look for people and found the little girl sleeping on the couch.
The September 20 fire started when an aluminum pan was left on a stove for an extended period of time.
Hassek, who is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and recklessly endangering another person, is free on unsecured bail.
