Flood Watch for the Weekend
A flood watch is in effect from Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon in McKean, Warren and Elk counties in Pennsylvania, and through Sunday night in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua and Allegany counties in New York.
The National Weather Service says heavy rain, along with snow melt, will contribute to potential flooding, with excessive runoff leading to significant rises on rivers, streams and creeks across the Allegheny Basin.
In Pennsylvania the flood watch is from noon Saturday to 6 o’clock Sunday night. In New York, it’s from 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon until 10 o’clock Sunday night.
