Tractor-Trailer Crash Near Kane

A tractor-trailer carrying plywood crashed just south of Kane this afternoon and spilled some diesel fuel.

Police say the crashed about at about 1:45 p.m. on Route 66 when the rig went out of control while going around a curve, slid across the road, jack-knifed and eventually came to rest in a ditch.

The diesel fuel was contained and collected by the Kane Fire Department and Big Dog’s Towing, which also towed the tractor-trailer from the scene.

The driver, 40-year-old Gianluca Spinola of Haddon Township, New Jersey, and his passenger, were not hurt.
