Man Jailed for Menacing State Trooper

A man is accused of menacing a state trooper with a billy club.

State troopers say they were called to the Kennedy, New York, home of 58-year-old William Swanson by people complaining of a man driving on Poland Center Road and yelling at residents. When Swanson answered the door of his house he menaced the trooper with the billy club. Troopers later learned Swanson had a blood alcohol content more than 3 times the legal limit.

He is charged with menacing a police officer, criminal possession of a weapon, disorderly conduct and driving while intoxicated. He was sent to Chautauqua County Jail.
