American Refining Group Inc. Marks
20th Year of ISO Certification
“It is cause for celebration,” stated Jennifer Taylor, Marketing Communications Manager for American Refining Group. “The fact that our refinery continues to meet the criteria for maintaining the ISO Certification speaks to the dedication of our employees and Leadership Team in providing consistent quality products and services to our customers.”
ISO 9000 (International Organization for Standardization) was first published in 1987, and has become a mandatory requirement for many purchasers. Over a million organizations throughout the globe have been certified, making ISO 9001 arguably the most widely used tool for Quality Management System certification in the world. Carrying the ISO certification gives customers an added guarantee that certain standards are being met, assuring that they are receiving quality consistent goods with each purchase.
“We modestly applaud the 20 years of ISO registration as confirmation that we have the necessary systems in place to safely continue our journey of constantly improving our products and processes,” stated Ray Reask, Quality Director for American Refining Group, Inc.
American Refining Group, Inc and its employees embrace the importance of being an ISO Certified organization. Reask states, “The improvement work doesn’t end with registration. The registration audit is more like a state vehicle inspection. A few key system components are checked for road worthiness. If we only maintained our cars to pass the inspection, eventually, we will experience an unwanted breakdown. If we only maintained our quality system to pass the audit, we’d have serious quality issues. We focus on quality improvement every day, not just inspection day. ”
The American Refining Group, Inc.’s unique, privately owned facility is situated on approximately 131 acres in Bradford, Pennsylvania, the heart of McKean County and the birthplace of the U.S. domestic oil industry more than 100 years ago. The refinery has a rated capacity of 11,000 barrels per day and processes light sweet paraffinic crude. This type of crude is available domestically, and ARG purchases the majority of its crude from sources in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York and West Virginia. It is also the oldest continuously operated lube oil refinery in the world. We strive to supply our customers with consistent quality products and flexibility in working together to succeed and service that is second to none.
