Cash, Checks Stolen from American Legion

More than $3,000 in cash and checks has been stolen from the American Legion in Sugar Grove.

Police say someone broke a window in the back of the building between 1:30 and 1:50 Sunday morning. Surveillance video shows that the person made his way to the safe, where he used a tool to cut the hinges off, grabbed the cash bags that were inside and then left through the window he had broken to get in.

The suspect was wearing a Halloween-like mask and hood covering his or her face, and was carrying a red case. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact state police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Cops: Man Had Sex with 13-Year-Old

A Derrick City man is accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl. 19-year-old Richie Cromley is charged with statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and criminal solicitation on a computer of a sex act with a child.
