Noonan: Millions of Dollars Worth of Drugs Seized

Pennsylvania State Troopers have seized more than $49 million worth of heroin, marijuana and other prohibited drugs in the third quarter of 2014.

State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan says besides the 49 kilos of heroin and more than 800 pounds of marijuana, they picked up more than 4,000 prescription pills and three pounds of methamphetamines, valued at more than $173,000, and 24 kilos of cocaine with an estimated value of $2.4 million.

He says the amount of heroin is already more than double what they seized last year.

A Derrick City man is accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl. 19-year-old Richie Cromley is charged with statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and criminal solicitation on a computer of a sex act with a child. Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
