22 Cats Found at Cattaraugus Home

A Cattaraugus County woman is facing charges after police found 22 cats in a house they say is uninhabitable.

Police say they ran a driver’s license check on 39-year-old Jennifer Beck of the Village of Cattaraugus. While they were at her house on Washington Street, they noticed a number of cats in the yard and seven kittens in a cage.

Police contacted the SPCA, the code enforcement officer and Beck’s landlord. The cats were removed and the building was deemed dangerous and uninhabitable until it’s cleaned up. Utilities had been off for several weeks.

Beck will be in New Albion Court later this month to answer the charges.

Jenn Had complained about the issues with the house for several months... Jenn was also a victim of domestic violence n when her ex had left she had left all the cats she had collected... Jenn had contacted the animal control officer who stated she was no longer allowed to take cats, jenn had also contacted several surronding counties Spca offices for assistance... with NO help. She had contacted the county about the animals left not more then 72 hours after her ex abdanom them in her house. Laws should protect victims NOT arrest them...

It Is Unfortant that Jenn did not receive her day in court. Is also Unfortant that when all Charges where dropped, that her photo still appears on the web. She is such a good, Kind hearted women.

Whats worse is her ex who collected all those cats, who never got charged; is again collecting animals. Its a shame the truth did NOT come out of all of this!
