The 20-year-old bartender who was shot by a customer who later shot and killed himself, is still hospitalized in critical but stable condition. Frank Bianco of Brockway tells the DuBois Courier-Express newspaper that his granddaughter Cera Bianco is continuing to recover at UPMC Altoona after the August 13 shooting. Police reports say 31-year-old Eric Carlson of Brockway got upset with Bianco when she was trying to close the Brockport Army & Navy Club so her shot her. As she lay bleeding on the porch of the establishment, he fatally shot himself. An 84-year-old man is in jail for trying to rape a 16-year-old girl in his Brockport home. Police say Junior D. Senior held the girl against a kitchen table, groped her, and tried to have sex with her. Senior is charged with attempted rape, indecent assault and unlawful restraint. His bail is set at $50,000. The gun a Brockway man used to kill himself after shooting a bartender in Brockport last night had been stolen earlier in the day. State police say the gun used by 31-year-old Eric Carlson had been stolen from the vehicle of a 57-year-old man while it was parked at the Brockport Army & Navy Club. Police say Carlson shot a 20-year-old woman from Brockport after they argued about her closing the bar at just before midnight. As she lay injured on the porch near the door, Carlson shot himself. The woman was flown to UPMC Altoona for treatment. Police did not release her name or give an update on her condition. They are continuing their investigation. A man shot and seriously wounded a bartender late Wednesday night as she was trying to close the Army and Navy Club in Brockport, and then turned the gun on himself. State police say a 20-year-old woman from Brockport was bartending and was trying to close the bar at just before midnight. 31-year-old Eric Carlson of Brockway got upset with her and they started arguing. As he was standing by the door while she was trying to get him to leave, he shot her multiple times with a pistol. As the woman was lying on the porch near the door, Carlson shot himself. No one was hurt when a pickup truck and a Peterbilt roll-off truck collided Thursday morning on Route 219 near the Elk/Jefferson County line. Police say the Peterbilt truck driven by 42-year-old Ronald Huey Jr. of Brockway was traveling north at 6:44 a.m. when a pickup truck driven by 35-year-old David Rosensteel of Brockway pulled out from the Brockport Post Office into the path of the other truck. A crash on Route 219 near the Elk/Jefferson County line downed utility lines and closed the road for several hours this morning. The road was closed in both directions from Brockway to Brockport after the crash that happened at around 6:40 a.m., according to PennDOT. State police are continuing to investigate the murder of a young brother and sister from Brockport and the apparent suicide of their father. They believe 32-year-old Brian David Sr. shot his 8-year-old daughter Nicole and 7-year-old son Brian Jr. in their home along Route 219 between 7 and 9 o’clock Thursday night. Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident this morning in Elk County. The two-vehicle crash happened at just before 11 a.m. on Route 153 near Cristini’s Auto Wrecking in Brockport. The Brockport man who was allegedly running a large-scale marijuana-growing operation in his home has waived his preliminary hearing. 54-year-old James Volpe was charged earlier this month following a four-month long federal investigation. Police found 65 marijuana plants growing behind a false wall in the basement of Volpe’s home, along with growing equipment and digital scales. They also found more than a pound of methamphetamine, $2,600 in cash, and a pill-making machine with, according to the criminal complaint, hundreds if not thousands of pills. Police also found a .22 caliber handgun in Volpe’s garage. Back in 2010, Volpe was convicted on federal charges of illegally distributing steroids and illegally possessing guns. A state police fire marshal is still trying to determine what caused a fire that destroyed a garage and damaged two houses this morning on Route 219 in Elk County. Trooper Greg Agosti says the fire started at 5:15 a.m. in a garage on the property of 76-year-old Hazel Courson of Brockport, and then spread to the home a few feet away. Courson, along with 48-year-old Lori Hollobaugh, 29-year-old April Dutka and 30-year-old Jason Young were asleep at the time of the fire but were able to escape without being hurt. Agosti says radiant heat from the garage fire also damaged another house occupied by Alan and Mary Moore. Damage is estimated at $150,000. The Horton Township Fire Department was assisted by Fox Township, Brockway, Ridgway, Falls Creek and DuBois fire departments. The American Red Cross is assisting the victims. A Brockport woman who was apparently thirsty and has a new dog has been charged with stealing from the St. Marys Walmart four times last month. On July 23 32-year-old Jennifer Jamison was caught leaving the store with three cases of pop, a bottle of Lipton Iced Tea, a pack of Frontline, a bottle of liquid dog de-wormer and a dog leash. Police say the value of the stolen items is $76. Police say the thefts started on July 10 when she left the store without paying $1.78 a bottle of water. On July 19 she left without paying $1.68 for a bottle of Lipton Iced Tea. On July 21, she left without paying for a pair of shorts, a tank top and a bra valued at $22.82. Two juveniles are accused of breaking into a seasonal residence in Elk County and defecating on a sofa. Police say the two known juveniles from Brockport and Brockway broke into the camp on Bundy Settlement Road in Horton Township by breaking a window. Once inside, they defecated on the sofa then smeared feces on the walls. They also shot a window with a BB gun. The incident happened sometime between December 10 and today. Damage is estimated at $800. Police are continuing their investigation.

No one was hurt in a crash at 8:40 this morning on Keystone Road, just west of Bundy Settlement Road in Elk County. Police say a car driven by 18-year-old Nicole Clark of Brockport went out of control on the partially snow-covered and slippery road, went off the berm and hit a parked car. Both cars went down an embankment and landed in a lawn. Clark’s car had to be towed from the scene. She will be charged with driving at an unsafe speed.
