Possible Phone Scam Hits Elk County
A Johnsonburg man tells police he received 8 telephone calls on Thursday from a man saying he was a collection officer for an undisclosed loan company, and asking for immediate payment for a defaulted loan. Police say they believe this is a scam and are asking people to not give any financial information out over the phone unless the caller has been identified. The number the possible scammer used is 661-213-9218.
