This Luna Moth was on the back door at WESB and The HERO this morning. Master Gardner Bob Harris says you don’t see them a whole lot but there are a few around here. He says it's called a "luna" moth -- as in lunar -- because it does most of its work in the evening -- going to flowers to collect nectar, and pollinating. There was some clowning around ... and some serious racing ... at the 3rd Annual Bradford Mastercraft All-American Soap Box Derby Saturday on Dorothy Lane. Hot dogs and meatball sandwiches were popular with some fans, while others preferred candy from the clown. This young lady can't believe he wants to charge $3 for Airheads. One of the young men reminded her, though, "He's kidding. He's a clown." On to the racing, and the prizes. Some people think it's not racing if there's not a wreck. Luckily, no one got hurt in this one. And the winners ... Mckenzie Smith, stock Janelle Housler, super stock

"Our" ducks are back. Dan Griffin/Igor tried feeding them some bread to get them to come closer but, for some reason, they didn't want it. My theory is that they knew we had donuts inside and thought we were holding out on them.

Scott Douglas was the master of ceremonies for First Night's Got Talent as well as the festivities in Veterans Square. ( Thanks to Jim Jones for brighening up this photo for me! ) The fireworks finale by Young Explosives wowed the crowd. Congratulations -- and thank you! -- to Larry, Kim & the entire committee for a great day and night!

It's so appropriate that his birthday is on Halloween. We all hope you have a great day, Igor!

A couple of people e-mailed me today and asked if I'll still be posting LiveLines, City Council meetings and other audio clips on the blog now that we're streaming. Well, our first audio/video was posted in March of 2008 so there's no reason to stop now. (That doesn't include the Buzz Week in Review, which we started in February of 2008). I know some people can't listen live, and I like to be able to give them a chance to listen at their leisure. My comment is to the nice gentleman who said the blog is an excellent "companion" to our station because he gets to know a little more about me, Scott, Frank, Igor and what's happening at the station.
