Part of High Street to Close Tuesday

High Street between Main Street and Elm Street will be closed for about two days starting tomorrow (Tuesday) morning so contractors for Columbia Gas can replace gas mains at the intersection of High and Main. That section of road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the length of the project. Motorists can expect delays. The bridge on Elm Street is rated for 3 tons, and will be monitored by local authorities. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

It Was Just a Drill

If you heard on your police scanner that Richie Hall on St. Francis Drive exploded – don’t bother coming down to check it out. It’s a drill. Columbia Gas says the drill was intended for the training of their employees to prepare them in case of a real emergency. Forest Service Wants Comments on
Special Use Permit Renewal

The Bradford Ranger District of the Allegheny National Forest (ANF) is reviewing a proposal by Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, Inc., for a Special Use Permit (SUP) Renewal of Rights of Way (ROW) for 2 existing natural gas pipelines located within Warren County, Pennsylvania: 1) Located within Sheffield Township, Lot 318, this pipeline is 288 ft. in length and 30 ft. wide and 2) Located within Mead Township, USA Tract 202, pipeline D-4227 is 6,687 ft. in length and is presently 16 ft. wide. The request includes replacing the existing D-4227 pipeline and widening of the existing ROW by 14 ft. The purpose of the SUP renewal is for the transportation and supply of natural gas. In addition to the SUP renewal, there is a need is to upgrade the existing Mead Township gas line D-4227 due to its age and leakages of natural gas. Parking Change on West Corydon Street

Beginning at 7 o'clock Monday morning Allegany Contracting will be doing gas line repairs on behalf of Columbia Gas on the south side of West Corydon Street from South Avenue to the Bradford City limits. During the construction, the city will allow parking on the north side of West Corydon until the project is finished. Please begin parking on the north side of West Corydon Street on Sunday evening.
