Fatal Stabbing in Amity
An argument turned fatal overnight in Allegany County. State police say 29-year-old Jason Cipriano and 33-year-old Jason Mehmel were arguing in the street near Tuckers Corner Road in Amity at around 12:30 a.m. when the fight turned physical and Mehmel fatally stabbed Cipriano in the chest. Mehmel ran away, but surrendered a short time later. Mehmel, who is from Angelica, is charged with second-degree murder as well as criminal possession of a weapon.
