State police saw a boy lying on his stomach on top of a speeding Jeep Cherokee, holding onto the luggage rack bars, and now the girl who was driving the Jeep is facing charges. Troopers say the incident happened at 6:30 Sunday morning on West Wind Road in Wetmore Township. The 18-year-old James City girl was driving one-handed – because she had a can of Bud Light in her other hand. After police stopped her, she was taken to Kane Community Hospital for blood tests. JAMES CITY – State Rep. Matt Gabler (R-Clearfield/Elk) is addressing a story we ran yesterday about a Pleasantville man's indictment on federal charges related to a permit for an underground disposal well in Highland Township, Elk County. According to the indictment filed by a federal grand jury Pleasantville-based S & T Services and Supply Inc. contracted with ARG Resources Inc. to plug abandoned oil wells so that ARG would be in compliance with its injection-well-permitting process under the Safe Drinking Water Act. 44-year-old Ronald Wright was then hired by S & T Services to perform the well plugging, but the indictment says he filed false claims that he had plugged the wells. Gabler issued the following statement: “(This) report is yet another devastating indictment of the EPA’s underground injection well permitting process. A Bradford man is dead after suffering from a medical emergency and crashing his SUV on James City Hill Wednesday afternoon. Police say the SUV driven by 81-year-old Bruce Eymer went off the road, hit a tree and an embankment, flew 40 feet and hit several more trees. The Elk County coroner says Eymer died of natural causes. His passenger, 82-year-old Constance Eymer, was flown to UPMC Hamot in Erie for treatment of her injuries. The Elk County coroner says Eymer died of natural causes. His passenger, 82-year-old Constance Eymer, was flown to UPMC Hamot in Erie for treatment of her injuries. ~~~ The Elk County coroner has been notified following a one-car crash at about 2:30 this afternoon on James City Hill. A person was reportedly trapped inside the vehicle. One person was flown by medical helicopter to an out-of-town hospital. We’ll have more information as it becomes available. An Elk County man has been charged for allowing more than 10 million gallons of wastewater to be discharged into a tributary leading to Wolf Run. 75-year-old Charles Vaughn of James City is a certified sewage treatment plant operator, but Attorney General Linda Kelly said the plant was being operated by someone who was not certified. During this time – between 2007and 2010 – an unauthorized bypass pipe was installed at the headworks of the plant, which allowed raw sewage to be redirected away from the plant and discharged directly into the unnamed tributary. DEP requires certified sewage treatment plant operators to report sewage that it bypassed through a plant, but Vaughn allegedly did not report it. He is charged with two counts of tampering with public records or information, two counts of unsworn falsification to authorities and one count of unlawful conduct pursuant to the Clean Streams Law. Three people died in a crash Friday on James City Hill in Wetmore Township. Police say a Ford F350 was traveling north and just into McKean County when it went off the road, hit three trees, flipped end over end and landed on its roof. The driver, 25-year-old Andrew Snarey of Aliquippa, and two of his passengers, 28-year-old Jeffrey Kramer of McDonald and 60-year-old George Snarey of Carnegie, died on impact. A third passenger, 42-year-old Todd Kosenina of Imperial, was flown to UPMC Hamot for treatment of moderate injuries. Police are continuing their investigation. More from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette .
