A fire that destroyed a pull-behind camper trailer in Potter County Monday night has been ruled arson. State Police Fire Marshal David Surra says the camper was parked in the pull-off along the south side of Route 6 in Pike Township just west of the Tioga County line when it was intentionally set on fire at around 10:30 last night. All identification including the plate and VIN number were removed, so police do not know who owned the camper. Damage is estimated at $3,000. No one was hurt. A state police fire marshal says a Cameron County house was so badly damaged by fire that he will not be able to determine the cause of the blaze. The fire destroyed the home of Richard Johnson of Mechanicsburg. His son, John Johnson, lived in the house but was not home at the time of the fire on Monday. Damage is estimated at $200,000. The fire that damaged an apartment in Emporium Monday afternoon was intentionally set. State Police Fire Marshal David Surra says accelerant material was used to start the fire inside a refrigerator in the basement apartment at 410 West. Allegany Avenue. The fire spread to the ceiling and walls, but was contained to the basement apartment. The tenant, 59-year-old Kenneth LaBrozzi, was not home at the time of the fire. All other occupants of the building were evacuated, and there were no injuries. The building is owned by Joseph DiBello. Damage is estimated at $25,000. Someone started a fire that damaged the inside of the Prospect Park Playground recreation building in Emporium Friday evening. State police fire marshal David Surra says the fire was intentionally set by someone igniting combustible materials inside a cabinet. Emporium firefighters put out of the fire, which was contained to the area of the cabinet. The rest of the inside of the building was damaged by heat and smoke. A house was destroyed but no one was hurt in a fire Friday in Ulysses. Paul Crippen Jr. and Kelli Crippen owned the house at 419 Graham Street. State Police fire marshal David Surra says Kelli Crippen was asleep in the house when smoke alarms woke her up and she was able to escape. Surra says due to the extensive damage and the collapse of the roof and first floor, the cause of the fire is undetermined. Damage is estimated at $120,000.
