Vehicular homicide and manslaughter charges against the Kane woman accused of driving under the influence in a crash that killed six people, including her 12-year-old daughter, have been bound to McKean County Court following a preliminary hearing today. 37-year-old Kathleen Douglas is accused of driving under the influence of prescription medication back in August when she crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Route 219 and Meade Run Road. Her 6-year-old nephew and four St. Marys residents also died in the crash and her 10-year-old son was seriously injured. Douglas remains jailed on $750,000 bail. Police say Douglas was driving her SUV on Route 219 at the Meade Run Road intersection on the afternoon of August 31 when it crossed the center line and hit a car head-on. Her 12-year-old daughter Olivia Douglas and 6-year-old nephew Jarrett Costanzo were pronounced dead at the scene. Harrisburg – Eleven people died in crashes investigated by state police during the Labor Day holiday weekend – including six in McKean County. 262 others were injured in the 661 crashes investigated by state police. This total does not include crashes investigated by local police. The McKean County crash happened Saturday afternoon when an SUV driven by 36-year-old Kathy Douglas of Kane crossed the center line at the intersection of Route 219 and Meade Run Road and hit car head-on.
