About 40 young people took park in a 30-hour famine project on Friday and Saturday, and raised more than $1,700 to feed the hungry. Their service project was to clean, weed, prune and work on the beds in the Project Pride Community Garden on Bank Street. The Bradford man charged for threatening staff at Bradford Regional Medical Center three times, and also for threatening to blow up a church has waived his preliminary hearings. On the morning of March 2 39-year-old Richard Lewis interrupted a service at Grace Lutheran Church on Mechanic Street by shouting that he was going to blow up the church, according to papers provided to WESB by District Judge Dominic Cercone's office. Several parishioners were able to get him into a private area of the church, and then took him to BRMC. At the hospital, he was screaming profanities, threatening to kill the staff and also threatening to blow up the hospital. Then on the afternoon of March 8 he went to the emergency room and again threatened to blow up the hospital. He also threatened to rip off Dr. Roger LaRoche’s limbs. Dramas Depict Reactions to Birth of Jesus A series of monologues titled “So Little They Knew’ will be offered throughout Advent at Grace Lutheran Church, 79 Mechanic St. The special services will be offered at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays Dec. 5, Dec. 12 and Dec. 19; also at regular services at 5:15 p.m. Saturday Dec. 15 and 11:15 a.m. Sunday Dec. 16; and culminate services at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22 and at 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 23. They are free and open to the public. The monologues, written by Marion Fairman depict how different women react to the possibility that Mary’s son Jesus is the Messiah.
