From entertainment in the East Main Street gazebo ... to pony rides in Kiddyland ... to hanging out with friends ... or even just takin' a snooze, the 9th Annual Stinkfest had something for everyone. The main event, though, is always the leek cuisine. Always a popular stop -- the East Bradford fire station for the leek dip contest. Sausage and leek sandwiches were one of the hot items for lunch. Joe Frombach serves up some delicacies, not all with leeks, from John Williams European Pastry Shop. What would Stinkfest be without outhouses? Denny Colman and pals move a couple of outhouses to the starting line for the outhouse races. And, of course ... Scott Douglas was broadcasting live on 100.1 The HERO ( The Rock Station of the Twin Tiers) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Organizers are anticipating a fun filled event for participants who at the same time will be supporting Bradford Area Public Library Endowment Fund. The BAPL has faced a 21% reduction from the state of Pennsylvania. The significant reduction from the state, combined with lower returns from investments and rising costs, have inspired the library to embark on an annual fundraising event. Derby Gala proceeds will strengthen the financial base of the Endowment Fund. Income earned on the investments of the Endowment Fund help offset the daily expenses of electric, heat, and salaries. Team Skid Mark from Burritt Appliance Center won the annual outhouse races at Stinkfest on Saturday afternoon in East Bradford. Rolling Thunder, the team from the US Army National Guard came in second. T 'n' T from Togi's took third place.

Punxsutawney Phil has seen his shadow, which, means we can expect six more weeks of winter. Meanwhile, Dunkirk Dave did not see his shadow, which means early spring weather. Farther south in New York, Staten Island Chuck – officially Charles G. Hogg – didn't see his shadow either, but Hottsville Hal did. And here in East Bradford, Tarport Tony predicted 8 more weeks of winter weather – but a beautiful day for the annual Stinkfest on May 2. Well, all you fans of the Stinkfest Outhouse Races -- say good-bye to the Lean Mean Latrine. While doing some fall cleaning at the station, the guys decided the outhouse had to go, and Frank got the honors of smashing it up.

A little rain didn't dampen anyone's spirits any the 7th Annual East Bradford Stinkfest on Saturday. Scott Douglas and Jeff Wemmell team up for part of The HERO's live broadcast during Stinkfest. Later, Jeff added this appropriate-for-the-occasion hood ornament to the Twin Tiers Action Van. The Church Street Blues Band entertains in the East Main Street Gazebo.

News 4 Meteorologist Mike Cejka is calling for rain on Saturday, so what does that mean for Stinkfest? Fred Cloud of the East Bradford Business Association says "It's gonna go rain or shine. We play in the rain; we play in the sun. Whatever it is, that's the way we have the festival. ... It's amazing the number of people who will come out for our festival even if it's a damp, rainy day. They want to see the outhouse race." Stinkfest is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday on East Main Street. 03/19/08 - Check-Cashing Scam Targets McDonald's State police are investigating a check cashing scam involving McDonald's restaurants. They say on February 14 a man arrived at the Warren McDonald's in what was described as a "school-styled bus." He went into the store, said he was a basketball coach and wanted to order food for his players. He ordered about 50 dollars worth of food and gave an employee a check for 150 dollars that he said was given to him by the school district. The employee then gave him the food and change. A local bank has discovered that the check was not valid. Police learned that the person committed similar crimes in Titusville and Grove City. They are trying to determine if there are any other similar incidents. 03/20/08 - LaBrozzi Named D9 League MVP Bradford’s Ryan LaBrozzi is the D9 League basketball MVP.
