The Smethport man charged in connection to a crash that killed an 8-year-old Shinglehouse boy in February of 2013 has pleaded no contest. 22-year-old Tieler Raymo pleaded to a charged of involuntary manslaughter, which was added as part of a plea agreement that dropped eight other charges, including homicide by vehicle. District Attorney Ray Learn explained that the reason the no contest plea was offered is that experts have differing opinions on the circumstances of the crash. A Shinglehouse man escaped injury when his car flipped over on Kings Run Road in Ceres Township Thursday afternoon. Kane-based state police say 19-year-old Austin Dickerson was just east of Barbertown Road at 5:15 p.m. when his car left the road and flipped onto his roof. Police are investigating incidents in Shinglehouse involving an adult and inappropriate pictures of teenage girls. They say between December 1 and September 20 an adult asked for and received inappropriate photos of a 16-year-old Ulysses girl. A Shinglehouse man is facing drug and other charges following a domestic dispute in the Town of Andover last month. State Police charged 32-year-old Jared Clark with harassment, criminal mischief, unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of a hypodermic needle. Homicide by vehicle and other charges against the man accused of careless driving in a crash that killed an 8-year-old boy have been bound to McKean County Court. 21-year-old Tieler Raymo of Smethport appeared before District Judge Bill Todd this afternoon. On the afternoon of February 8, 2013, on East Valley Road in Smethport, Raymo was allegedly speeding on the wrong side of the road when his SUV crashed into another vehicle, killing the little boy from Shinglehouse. Raymo is also charged with aggravated assault by vehicle, recklessly endangering another person and a number of summary traffic offenses. Raymo is free on $20,000 unsecured bail. The Smethport man accused of careless driving in a crash that killed an 8-year-old Shinglehouse boy was scheduled to be in district court today, but his hearing has been moved to June 3. 21-year-old Tieler Raymo is charged with homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle and recklessly endangering another person. The crash happened on the afternoon of February 8, 2013, on East Valley Road in Smethport. Police say Raymo was speeding on the wrong side of the road that was covered with slush. A Shinglehouse woman is jailed on assault charges. Police charged 35-year-old Charleen Brabham with felony counts of aggravated assault and terroristic threats for incidents that happened Sunday in the borough. She is also charged with misdemeanor counts of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and criminal mischief. Her bail is set at $35,000 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 23. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

A dump truck and a car collided at the intersection of Minard Run Road and High Street this afternoon, injuring four people. The car driven by 47-year-old Paula Lannager of Shinglehouse was traveling south on High Street, where it stopped at the stop sign and then pulled onto to Minard Run Road, where the truck driven by 42-year-old Jack Kilby of Great Valley, New York, was traveling east. Bradford Township Police say Kilby tried to avoid the collision, but the truck started to tip over and then landed on the back on the car in the east ditch on High Street. Lannager and her passengers, 27-year-old Diana Causer and 4-year-old Alessia Norton, were taken to Bradford Regional Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries. Kilby suffered minor injuries. The Bradford Township Volunteer Fire Department, Bradford City Ambulance and PennDOT assisted at the scene. Police are still investigating. A Shinglehouse woman will spend the next five years on probation for forging checks and stealing more than $3,000. 44-year-old Tina Bellamy was convicted of grand larceny for the incidents that happened between October 3, 2012 and February 7, 2013 in Olean. Two men involved in a road rage incident last month were in court today. Aggravated assault and other charges against 35-year-old Morton Hansen IV of Shinglehouse were bound to McKean County Court following a hearing in front of District Judge Bill Todd. Hansen is accused of intentionally backing his dump truck into another dump truck, getting into the other truck through the driver’s side window and assault the driver, 50-year-old Kenneth Plants. Plants had to be treated at Olean General Hospital. 56-year-old Morten Hansen III, also of Shinglehouse, waived his hearing on charges that he went to the scene and attempted to get rid of all physical evidence. Two men are facing charges following a road rage incident Monday night in Ceres Township. Police say 35-year-old Morten Hansen IV of Shinglehouse intentionally backed his dump truck into another dump truck, got out of his truck, got into the other truck through the driver’s side window and assaulted the driver, 50-year-old Kenneth Plants, also of Shinglehouse. Plants was taken to Olean General Hospital for treatment. Hansen is charged with assault and jailed on $15,000 bail. 56-year-old Morten Hansen III is charged with tampering with evidence after going to the scene on his four-wheeler and allegedly attempting to remove all physical evidence. Two people are facing charges following a traffic stop July 31 in the Town of Almond. 25-year-old Kristopher Holtz of Shinglehouse is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. 39-year-old Raymond James of Olean is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Shinglehouse – Work to replace two pipes in Potter County will require a closure on State Route 4014 (Plank Road) May 28 and 29. The road will be closed between Wheeler Hill Road and Honeoye each day from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This two-day closure in Sharon Township will feature an official PennDOT detour. Drivers will use Routes 4023 (Eleven Mile Road), 44, and 4021 (Honeoye Road) to get around the work zone. The work will be performed by PennDOT Potter County Maintenance, with the detour lifted overnight, once work is complete on May 28. The road will be fully opened on May 29, as soon as possible – once the pipe work is finished. All work is weather dependent. A Shinglehouse man is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl. 54-year-old Brian McMullen is charged with indecent assault, endangering the welfare of a child and corruption of minors in connection to alleged incidents that happened at two houses in Shinglehouse between June of 2011 and Thursday. A Bolivar, New York, man wanted in connection to a drug store burglary in Shinglehouse has been picked up in St. Marys. 24-year-old Richard Darringer and 19-year-old Katelyn Barnes of Shinglehouse are accused of breaking a window at Sprout’s Drug Store and stealing a number of bottles of pills worth more than $5,100. Barnes was arrested Sunday after a search of a house in Ceres Township. A warrant was issued for Darringer’s arrest. He was apprehended by Ridgway-based state police. They are both charged with felony counts of burglary, conspiracy and criminal used of a communication facility. They are also charged with misdemeanor counts of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief. Barnes and Darringer are jailed on $25,000 bail each. Two teenagers escaped injury in separate accidents this morning. Police say at about 8 a.m. 17-year-old Dakota Vaughn of Eldred was on Indian Creek Road, just east of Loop Road, when his SUV went off the road, sheared off a utility pole and traveled through the front yard of a house. At 8:50 a.m. 16-year-old Kali Gross of Shinglehouse was on Route 44 in Ceres Township when her pickup truck lost traction, spun around, went up an embankment and hit a concrete culvert. Firefighters from New York and Pennsylvania started battling a blaze at just before 9 o’clock this morning on Lillibridge Road in Portville. The Portville Fire Department was called at 8:48 a.m. to 1410 Lillibridge. Tankers were requested from Allegany, Clarksville, Town of Olean and Hinsdale. Westons Mills firefighters were first asked to standby, but were later called to the scene. Shinglehouse firefighters were also called to the scene, and Coudersport is covering the Shinglehouse station. A Portville-area resident tells us many people on Lillibridge Road use wood-burning stoves. We are not sure yet of the cause of the fire, but will keep you updated. The baby who survived a fire that killed his grandmother, brother and sister has been released from the hospital. 14-month-old Charles Holmes had been in Women & Children’s Hospital in Buffalo for treatment of smoke inhalation following the fire at his grandmother’s home in Bolivar, New York, early Sunday morning. He was released from the hospital Thursday and placed in the custody of Potter County Children and Youth Services. The baby’s mother, 25-year-old Mary Holmes of Shinglehouse, is in jail on felony drug charges, and for endangering the welfare of children. His father, 29-year-old Jesse Holmes, was released from prison a week ago. He was put in jail for failing to appear in court to answer charges of endangering the welfare of children. Mary Holmes’s mother 42-year-old Tina Kemp, along with 3-year-old Eric Holmes and 2-year-old Jessica Holmes died in the fire. Kemp’s boyfriend, 62-year-old Terry Green was able to escape with Charles. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... si...
