The Bradford man who stole guns and other items from a Keating Township home will spend 30 months to eight years in state prison. 35-year-old Ronald Bliss Jr. pushed in a locked door at the home, then stole two rifles, ammunition, a flat screen TV, some tools and two jars full of change, as previously reported by WESB. Effective at noon Friday PennDOT will post weight limits on a Columbia Hill Road bridge in McKean County. The bridge spans the North Branch of Cole Creek in Keating Township, near the village of Wrights Corners, according to a news release sent to WESB. As of noon Friday, the bridge will be posted for 33 tons for single vehicles and 40 tons for combination vehicles. The Wrights Corners Bridge was built in 1941, is 33 feet long, and carries an average of more than 300 vehicles daily. In August of 2013, PennDOT Secretary Barry J. Schoch authorized the transportation department to add or increase weight restrictions to about 1,000 structurally deficient bridges statewide. Reducing the weight traveling on these bridges will slow their deterioration and preserve safety until repairs or replacement can occur. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

State police are looking for more victims of a burglary and theft ring operating in and around McKean County. The men accused of operating the ring are Trevor Elder, Adam Bachman, Cameron Causer, Mark Schneider, Nathan Hoy, Garrett Hoy and Austin Tankersley. Police are asking anyone who bought items from any of these to contact them because there’s a possibility the items were stolen. Among the items stolen were chainsaws, ATVs and dirt bikes, and they were taken from the Borough of Smethport as well as Keating, Liberty, Norwich and Annin townships. Arrests have been made in some of the crimes are more arrests are pending. A Bradford man charged with stealing guns and other items from a Keating Township home last month has waived his preliminary hearing. Police say 35-year-old Ronald Bliss Jr. pushed in a locked door at the home, then stole two rifles, ammunition, a flat screen TV, some tools and two jars full of change.
