Charges against a 70-year-old man accused of indecent assault on an 8-year-old girl have been bound to court following a preliminary hearing in front of District Judge Dominic Cercone. Ronald Klawuhn is accused of approaching the girl outside the Goodwill store on Davis Street, rubbing his hand up and down her buttocks and trying to unzip and unbutton her shorts. He walked away when the little girl’s 10-year-old brother started yelling at him and attracting attention, according to papers filed in Cercone’s office. After getting a description from the children, Bradford City Police Officer Dave Feely saw Klawuhn later in the day loitering near Dollar General and recognized him as a man he arrested a few years ago for a similar incident. By ANNE HOLLIDAY WESB/WBRR News Director The Bradford Area School District is buying the former Crosby's on Interstate Parkway and the house next door for a total of $254,000. The $169,000 to Reid Petroleum for the Crosby's property includes the removal of the gas tanks and the understanding the parcel be "environmentally clean" before the sale is finalized. During Monday's Bradford Area School Board meeting, district business manager Kathy Kelly said Reid wants to get it finished "as quickly as they can." Board member Joe Troutman said he believes the prices are "a little high," but on the other hand the properties are "like gold to us" because they're adjacent to school property. Board member Keith Hatch added that part of the board's long range goal is to pick up properties near the schools for possible future expansion. Some people ran unopposed in Tuesday's election. McKean County Sheriff Brad Mason received 4,123 votes. Among the 33 write-in votes that were cast for the position were one for Elmer Fudd and one for Santa Claus. McKean County Judge John Pavlock, who was appointed to the bench shortly after he won the primary election, received 4,103 votes. There were 28 write-ins. Acting District Attorney Ray Learn garnered 3,863 votes. There were 18 write-ins. Lewis Run Mayor Albert Montecalvo got 64 votes. Smethport Mayor Ross Porter, who was seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident last week, received 242 votes. Doug Caldwell received 285 votes for Kane Borough Mayor. There were 8 write-ins. As for the numbers in the contested elections, Dave Feely garnered more votes than the other Bradford Area School Board candidates with 1,688.
