The Free Family Film Fest will show The Karate Kid (2010 version, rated PG) starring Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan on Saturday, February 12th at 10 a.m. The film is about a young boy who moves to a new place where he feels isolated and is bullied by his peers. Through an unlikely relationship with an adult, the boy not only learns to protect himself through martial arts, but develops the much more important qualities of respect and the mastery of one’s own minds and body. The special guest speaker for this week will be Mike Miller of Miller’s Kenpo Karate Dojo. Sensei Miller and some of his students will also be the greeters for the program. The Film Fest is open to children of all ages. However, children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early so that they can register and enter the drawing for a bicycle, donated by Just Riding Along. A fundraiser for Hunter's Hope at Byllye Lanes and the Free Family Film Fest were a couple activities keeping people busy -- and inside -- on Saturday. Buffalo Jills cheerleader Bri Pedine (center) takes time to pose with the organizers of the Hunter's Hope fundraiser, Katherine Moyer and Erika Bacha. Bri also talked with some of the bowlers, including Harry Solarek. It's only a party if you dance to "Y-M-C-A," right? Megan Hillard is all smiles after rolling a strike. These two young bowlers were thrilled with their door prizes. The movie was "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" and the pre-movie talk about about Freedom of Speech. This Saturday's movie is "Nanny McPhee Returns" and the guests will be Betty Jo Wilcox and Lee Sizemore from Strengthening Families.

The Free Family Film Fest will show “SPY Kids 2” on Saturday, February 20 at 10 a.m. at the Main Street Moviehouse. The Film Fest is open to children of all ages. However, children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early so they can register, and enter a drawing for a bicycle donated by Just Riding Along. The drawing for the bicycle will be held at the conclusion of the series on Saturday, February 27th. Special guests this week will be State Representative Marty Causer and his family. The Free Family Film Fest will kick off its fifth season on Saturday, January 30th with the movie “Madagascar”. Released in 2005, this animated film follows four best friends, a loin, a zebra, a giraffe and a hippo. When one of the four is missing from his cage at the New York Central Park Zoo, the other three escape and go searching, only to find him on a ship en route to Africa. The four friends then learn what life is like in the wild after being raised in captivity. The Film Fest is open to children of all ages. However, children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The program will begin promptly at 10 a.m. and attendees are encouraged to arrive early at the Bradford Main Street Movie House so that they can register and enter the drawing for a bicycle, donated by Just Riding Along.
