City of Bradford Police Chief Chris Lucco, along with Frank Williams and Stoney Greenburg, participated in the Bradford YWCA's inaugural Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event to raise awareness about sexual assault. More than 100 walkers made their way down Main Street to Veterans Square for a recognition ceremony, a proclamation from Mayor Tom Riel and other festivities, includiing a band. Frank Williams has been elected president of the Don Raabe Big 30 Charities Classic Committee for the 2014 All Star Football Game to be played August 2 at Parkway Field in Bradford. Williams succeeds Bill Kleinberger. Following Williams in the office of Vice President will be Craig Funk of Smethport, who is a former player in the Big 30 game. Re-elected to the offices of secretary and treasurer are Bob South and Tom Bowes, respectively. The new officers’ terms begin with the regular monthly meeting December 11. A person, who apparently got tossed out of Players Downtown last night, went back to the bar and tossed a Molotov cocktail at the building. Frank Williams, who was just getting back from the Owls game at Meadville, said people told him flames had been leaping 20 feet out of the building after the fire bomb was thrown at about 11:30 p.m., He said could still see smoke at 1:30 a.m. State Police fire marshal Greg Agosti says the improvised incendiary device was thrown at the front door, and about 50 people had to be evacuated from the building. No one was hurt. Damage is estimated at $10,000. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Bradford City Police.

The Little Mermaid and Rapunzel were just a couple of the fictional characters who made an appearance at Thursday's American Cancer Society "Fight Back Parade," which has become the kick-off event for the annual Relay for Life. Also on hand were local police and fire departments, many of the teams, Kids and Canccer, and the Street Dreams Car Club. And ... the Miss Relay contestants. The relay gets underway at noon Friday at Pitt-Bradford. Plenty of fun and food will be available -- even if you don't have a team -- as the community fights back against cancer and remembers those who fought the good fight.

Bradford will be the place to be with the movie shown on one end of Main Street and one of the actors on hand to greet guests on the other end. The movie features Academy Award-winner Denzel Washington, Chris Pine and Rosario Dawson.
