CNB Bank is warning customers about a scam that starts with a text message. They say the scammers send a message that says, “State Bank Alert: Your VISA Check Card is blocked.” People are then asked to call VISA Card Services and entered their card information on the phone’s keypad. Once again, this is the scammer’s attempt at getting personal information – and you should never enter any account numbers on a phone. Change to Parade Route Announced Area businesses, non-profit organizations, school bands, classic car owners, dance teams, and fire departments are asked to please submit their registration forms for Bradford’s annual Cruisin’ into Christmas Parade as soon as possible, but no later than the November 14th deadline. Forms may be picked up at and returned to the Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce office located at 121 Main Street Monday through Friday from 10am-4pm, or will be emailed by request to those interested in participating. 2015 calendars are now available at all CNB Bank branch offices and the public is invited to stop in to pick up their free copy. On Wednesday, August 6, 2014, twelve winners, including a Best of Show, and twenty-four honorable mentions were selected to be featured in the 2015 CNB Bank wall calendars. Local residents, whether beginner, amateur or professional photographers, were encouraged to submit one or two of their photos via the Bank’s web site at www.BankCNB.com June 16 through August 1, 2014. The 2015 calendar features local photos with a railroad theme. Nearly two hundred entries were received, but one stood out as Judge’s Best of Show, which was submitted by Elizabeth Behan of Bradford. Her photo, entitled “Railroad Crossing”, will be featured on the cover of the 2015 wall calendars, as well as inside the calendar for the month of April. The Street Dreams Car Club, Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce and our signature sponsor CNB Bank are proud to announce plans for the Sixth Annual Cruisin’ into Christmas parade on Friday, November 21st at 6 pm on Historic Main Street in downtown Bradford. Cash prizes will be awarded for six different divisions: best holiday music arrangement by a school band, best holiday float by a business, best holiday float by a non-profit organization, best decorated classic car, best holiday arrangement by a dance team, and best decorated fire truck. In each category, prizes will be $250 for 1st place and $100 for 2nd place. Applications can be picked up at the Chamber office at 121 Main Street, Bradford Monday through Friday from 10am until 4 pm. Registration will close on November 15th. Police have arrested the man they believe robbed a Johnsonburg bank at gunpoint last week. 36-year-old Corey Feronti of Ridgway is charged with three felony counts of robbery and a misdemeanor count of theft. Feronti is accused of going into the CNB Bank on Market Street on the afternoon of January 8, pointing a gun at an employee and demanding cash. After working several leads in their investigation, police searched Feronti’s home, which led to his arrest. Feronti is in Elk County Jail on $100,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday in front of District Judge Tony King. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

Police have released a sketch of the man wanted for robbing the CNB Bank in Johnsonburg Tuesday afternoon. The suspect is described as a white man, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build. At around 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday he displayed a gun, demanded money and ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash. UPDATE: At about 4:45 p.m. a "Be on the Lookout" (BOLO) was issued for McKean County law enforcement agencies regarding this bank robbery suspect. Elk County police are looking for the person who robbed the CNB Bank on Market Street in Johnsonburg this afternoon. The person, who is believed to be a white man, had what they think is a black handgun during the robbery at around 2:15 p.m. The man was wearing a gray hoodie, a ski mask and a red bandana across his face. Anyone who sees the suspect is urged to call 9-1-1. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

Students in the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford’s Student Nurse Organization teamed up with CNB Bank during November and December to collect coats and other warm clothing items for those who need them. Congratulations to Steve Cavallaro and everyone involved in restoring the Willow Dale Duck Pond -- and making it better than ever. Sunday's fundraiser brought in more than $5,800. You can still contribute to the effort by sending a donation to "Friends of Willow Dale" c/o CNB Bank.

The CNB Bear, and helper, passed out balloons during the bank's celebration of their newly remodeled Chambers Street branch on Saturday. There's still time to sign up for the bank's summer-long Bradford area scavenger hunt. You can stop in at the bank for all the details.

Amy Barger is the winner of WESB and The HERO's annual Wedding Belles contest. Second, third and fourth place finishers were Tiffany Bosworth, Brittany Frantz and Angie Comilla. You can see a complete list of the winners and their prizes here . The Wedding Belles contest helped pump nearly $1.3 million into the economy in McKean, Cattaraugus and Elk counties. Thanks to all the Wedding Belles and the people who supported them -- and so many area businesses! Our Create-a-Commercial winner is Chelsea Cummins, who wrote and recorded a commercial for WESB. Rachel Dennis received an honorable mention for Tasta Pizza. Create-a-Commercial is done every year in conjunction with area sponsors and the Bradford Area School District.

The 26th annual Don Raabe Big 30 Charities Give-away day was Sunday at CNB. The Big 30 Charities gave-away $14,400 and has now give away $1.3 million dollars in it's history. Two players, who played in game 36 this past August, Andrew Olson from Kane and Stephen Jacobson of Salamanca handed out checks to recepients. The recipients included the Dan Beckwith Scholarship, Camp Care, McKean County Visiting Nurses Voice Care Fund, McKean County Special Olympics, Bradford Special Police, Sandra Jo Pennington, Dewey Fund, McKean County Visiting Nurses Bereavement Camp, Camp New Horizons, McKean County SPCA, Debbie Crum, Shawn Prencipe, James Menteer, Camp JJ, Twin Tier Pregnancy Care Center, Sam Benedict Chapter of Football Officials, Bill Satsman, Rodney Jones, Mary Dean, Elizabeth Yohe and the Bradford Area High School cheerleaders.
