A Warren man is in jail for sexual assaulting a 2-month-old baby. 25-year-old Francis Notoro allegedly assaulted the baby on July 15, and was arrested after the baby was examined at Warren General Hospital. Court records say Notoro claims he was holding the baby when he tripped over a chair and lost his grip on the child. He claims bite marks were caused by another child. He’s charged with rape of a child, involuntary sexual intercourse with a child, indecent assault, simple assault and endangering the welfare of a child. State police are investigating threats that were made against police, prosecutors and judges in Warren County over a past criminal case. The threats were made between Jan. 14 and Feb. 9 and targeted Warren County District Attorney Ross McKeirnan and Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Feronti; Warren County President Judge Maureen Skerda and Senior Judge William Morgan; state police Trooper Jeffrey Walters; and two other people, who police did not name. Police say the victims got correspondence indicating that harm and/or death would come to them for their roles in a past prosecution. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

39 people have been rounded up in a drug sweep throughout Warren County. Members of the Warren County Drug Task Force conducted early morning raids that targeted “petty drug dealers selling dangerous chemicals which wind up being injected into the veins of users.” Warren County District Attorney Ross McKeirnan added in news release that, "We are not talking about blowing around a little pot smoke. This stuff destroys lives." He said there would have been four additional arrests today, had it not been for four recent drug-related deaths. McKiernan also had a message for the drug dealers. He says the police know who they are, and are coming to get them. Sheriff Kenneth Klakamp served as incident commander of the operation.
