03/20/08 - Police Search for Bradford Man
A Bradford man is facing charges after allegedly striking a pedestrian with a vehicle Sunday night in a parking lot at Jose’s bar in Lewis Run. 22 year-old Chad Cobb ran into several vehicles and then a pedestrian in the bar’s parking lot. The pedestrian was treated for minor injuries at BRMC. Cobb is facing charges for leaving the scene of an accident and other violations. Anyone with information on Cobb’s whereabouts is asked to contact State Police in Kane.

03/20/08 - Man Takes Police on High-Speed Chase
A Salamanca man faces several charges after taking police on a high-speed chase through the city early Thursday morning. Police started chasing 24-year-old Darryl Shongo on Merden Avenue at around 2:30 a.m. The chase continued over 11 streets and ended in the Masonic Park. Police say Shongo drove in excess of 80 miles per hour and rammed 2 marked police vehicles. Shongo faces more than a dozen charges and 30 traffic citations. He was sent to Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of 10 thousand dollars bail.

03/21/08 - Commissioners Name New Warden
McKean County Commissioners abolished the prison board Thursday.
Then they installed Sheriff Brad Mason as McKean County Jail Warden.
The changes are effective immediately and will save McKean County around $80,000. Mason says he’ll name two assistant wardens to the staff at the jail.

03/21/08 - Mount Jewett Man Pleads Guilty
A Mount Jewett man has pleaded guilty to causing an accident that killed another Mount Jewett man. 23-year-old Jason Roth was pulling out of the parking lot of the Don't Know Tavern on Route 219 on June 9 when his car went out of control, rolled over and hit some small trees. 24-year-old Ian McCloskey was a passenger in Roth's car, and died at the scene. Roth will be sentenced April 24.
