Mental Health Exam Ordered for
Jailed Former Bradford Woman

The Batavia mother who tried to suffocate her child appeared in Buffalo City Court this afternoon where the judge ordered a full forensic mental health exam. The judge also ordered that former Bradford resident Marcia Mitchell be held without bail. Police say Mitchell tried to suffocate her child with a pillow at Buffalo's Women and Children's Hospital. Security cameras at the hospital captured the whole incident. The baby's father said the 7-month-old was being treated for a seizure.
Mitchell is scheduled to appear in court again later this month.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
