Dozens of Bridges on Repair List

A new transportation investment -- signed into law today by Governor Rendell -- will clear the way for 411 bridge repair projects this year. These are the bridges in our area on the list:

McKean County – Route 219 Bradford Bypass over the Buffalo and Pittsburgh Railroad in Foster Township; Route 219 Bradford Bypass over Foster Brook; Bradford Bypass over Route 369 in Foster Township; Bradford Bypass over the Tuna Creek in the City; Bradford Bypass over Tuna Creek in the city and Bradford Township; the Kendall Creek Bridge on Route 46 in Foster Township; Kinzua Creek Bridge in Hamilton Township

Cameron County – Sinnemahoning Creek Bridge in Grove Township

Elk County – Irwin Run Bridge in Spring Township; Elk Creek Bridge in Ridgway Township; bridge over Mead Run in Horton Township; and the Sinnemahoning Creek Bridge over the Bennett Branch of the creek in Benezette Township

Potter County – Route 872 over the Sinnemahoning Creek in Portage and Sylvania townships; Oswayo Creek Bridge in Shinglehouse; and the Rogers Run Bridge in Ulysses Township.

Warren County – Route 1030 over Scotts Run in Conewango Township; Chapman Dam Run over Elkhorn Run in Pleasant Township; and Lindsey Hill over Whitney Run in Spring Creek Township

The list also includes 8 bridges in Clearfield County, 2 in Forest County, 3 in Jefferson County and 10 in Tioga County.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Arrests in 'Operation Border Bargains'

Attorney General Kelly announces arrests in "Operation Border Bargains;" 19 charged in Ohio to PA meth lab & pill-shopping investigation ERIE - Agents from the Attorney General's Bureau of Narcotics Investigation, along with officers from local police departments across Erie County, are in the process of arresting 19 Pennsylvania and Ohio residents allegedly involved in two separate interstate methamphetamine production and pill-shopping networks. Attorney General Linda Kelly said the 15-month long investigation, known as "Operation Border Bargains," focused on organized efforts to conceal the purchase of large quantities of pseudoephedrine - a primary ingredient for meth production which is most commonly found in various cold and allergy medicines.
