Federal Workers Get Raises
More than 60 federal workers in McKean, Warren and parts of Forest and Elk counties will be getting raises. Final approval of the proposal came last week when the Federal Prevailing Rate Advisory Committee met in Washington, D.C. The action will result in significant pay hikes for employees of the U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and FCI-McKean who are members of the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE). In the case of employees on the top step of the wage scale, the increase will 8 percent. The increase for workers on the lowest end of the pay scale will be 14 percent.
