Senecas File Appeal with NIGC

The National Indian Gaming Commission has put the Seneca Nation on notice that their Buffalo Creek Casino is in violation of federal law. The Senecas have filed a notice of appeal with the National Indian Gaming Commission. The Commission has told the Senecas they may have to shut down in five days, and could be fined $25,000 dollars a day if they don't. The federal government, which has allowed the Senecas to begin building a $333 million dollar casino hotel complex, is still considering its options in the case. Seneca President Mo John says he is still confident they will be able to build the casino, and that gambling will be found to be legal on the Buffalo site.
