Randolph Soldier Dies in Afghanistan

A soldier from Randolph was killed last week in Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense says 24-year-old Timothy L. Johnson died Sept. 16 in Kandahar of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device at Arghandab River Valley.

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.

Johnson leaves behind a wife and child.
