Man Pleads Guilty to Salamanca Burglary

A man who stole more than $8,000 worth of cash and cigarettes from the Across the River smoke shop in Salamanca last July has pleaded guilty to attempted burglary and grand larceny charges.

20-year-old James Porter, along with 20-year-old Alexa Knoxsah and a 17-year-old boy took nearly everyting in the store.

Porter will be sentenced March 14.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
