Two More Charged with Welfare Fraud
Two more Cattaraugus County residents have been charged with welfare fraud.
35-year-old Melissa Stevens of Olean is also charged with grand larceny for spending more than $2,200 worth of another person’s food stamps between November of 2009 to October of 2010 while the other person was in a nursing home and not entitled to food stamps.
45-year-old Carolyn Hewett of Olean is also charged with petit larceny for using someone else’s food stamps in November and December of last year while the other person was in jail.
Both women are scheduled to appear in City of Olean Court on December 13.
