Overheated Cell Phone Causes Fire

A cell phone that had been plugged in and charging for several months is believed to be the cause of a fire at a Brocton house Wednesday evening.

Chautauqua County fire investigators say the phone apparently overheated and set nearby materials on fire.

The fire has been ruled accidental. No one was hurt, but a mother and her three children have been displaced by the fire and are being helped by the Red Cross.
