Soldiers Help Crash Victim

A Smethport man escaped injury when his Mack truck crashed on Route 59 at just after noon on Wednesday, and he got some help from some Good Samaritans in uniform.

Police say the truck driven by 51-year-old John Baker left the road, hit a guardrail and then went down a steep embankment and hit a tree.

US Army National Guard soldiers Specialists Beau Gross and Sean Davis and Privates First Class Robert Harper and Robert Micale travelling in a US Army vehicle stopped and rendered aid.
