Mount Jewett Woman Hurt in Car Crash

A Mount Jewett woman was hurt in a one-car crash Saturday on Route 46 in Cameron County.

In a report released today, state police say a car driven by 41-year-old Laura Silfies went out of control on a curve, went off the berm and into a 3-foot-deep ditch and then hit a culvert and cartwheeled back onto the road.

Silfies was taken by ambulance to Elk Regional Health Center for treatment of moderate injuries. She was cited for careless driving. DUI charges are pending the outcome of lab tests.
